First flight: March 6th, 2007

RV-8 kit 80925, begun in 1999, took flight on March 6th, 2007, under sunny Northwest skies after 8 year and 3 days of construction. It features a carbureted XP-360, a Hartzell c/s prop, RMI instruments, Navaid, and Apollo SL40/SL70. Empty weight came in at 1105 fully painted. It flew hands off, no heavy wing and the ball was centered. I had transition training with Mike Seager which was invaluable, in fact I can't imagine anyone attempting to fly an RV for the first time wihout it. Bottom line: it flies like Peregrine Falcon with it's tail feathers on fire! Special thanks to my builder pals Randy Lervold and Jeff Jasinsky without whom I couldn't have (or wouldn't have) completed it.
